Not really so much actually history, though I still consider a year ago history. If any of you other mods find a better place to put this, then please do. Your favorite role played battle, ever. What is it? How bad did you win or lose? And how long did it take to get to that crushing defeat or victory? Your opponents? Your fiercest opponent? Keep the ego's out of this one, this is more a "good times" thread, as we peer into the last couple of years and remember some of the better times in role playing.
I'm gonna say Yi Yang, or whatever the first practice battle of Bot3k was named. That battle clicked, and it was the first battle that I took part in with all of you, before that I'd had a lot of fights on other sites, though never to the point where people put great detail in their posts and strategies. It was great to be in Wu at the time, though we were the weakest on the field, If I remember correctly. Also great when the big elephant in the corner, Wei, retreated , after we betrayed them. Somehow they totally didn't see that coming. Fought against Erik and Brian in that battle, two opponents that I really didn't so as much beat, just clashed with. I enjoyed reading Mortiss and Vash's little bridge battle too. ;D Other than that, I have to give credit to Wenchang from COD, where we (Zhao) kicked Erik's (Yuan Shu) ass with great little trickery plots and siege engines. Of course, and I still have yet to figure out why you did this Erik, our enemy was walking in a strait line, the biggest parts of their army out with spears. I'd thought you were smoking cocaine and decided to post that.

I thought he was smoking Cocaine not realizing I wasn't going to betray you. I totally honestly would've thought he'd've figured it out...
I honestly can't say I've enjoyed many battles. One of my favorites so far is the crushing defeat I'm dealing Shu currently on Sagas, having eliminated two of their officers with my PC and NPC. My NPC dueled one of their generals, and Roflpwned him, and then I just happened to huck a Pike through Ma Dai, and he never picked up on it.
Another would have to be our various FE battles and CoD battles. They weren't funky awesome fresh, but they were good enough to satiate my bloodlust for the time being.
Of course, Adam was a fool and tried to take Chang Sha from me, but I withheld him (Fallen Era 1, when ijiero was Cao Cao). Sure, I lost Ce to some of Bya Kou's BS, but then I got Quan to full strength, and out went the recruitment letters. I had only a few officers, two of which had just betrayed me and left my force. That left me with Zhao Yun (True Samurai, if anyone knew him. great guy, he's still on HoC), AzNknight (Haven't heard nor seen him in a LONG time, but he was good while he laste), and a few other officers. Liu Bei had a fully stacked army, which could've easily destroyed my minor forces. Suddenly, Zhao Yun had shown up, upon beckoning, and began to wreck house in the south, keeping my enemies at bay as my catapults rained death from atop the gates. My center force had a few suprises, in the form of Elephants, that were hidden from Adam. He had a trebuchet, which began to rain down rocks, knocking away parts of my castle. However, when he sent his first rocks forwards, I had already recruited an ally. Aruzo came in the form of a rebel who aided me. He charged forth, and diced up Adam's Trebuchet with a blitzkrieg of armored horsemen, who fell into a two column line that would pierce through his spearmen. Soon enough, I ended up recieveing Gryffin (After battle started), and he rushed around, towards the south, where Vash and Kajyn began their attacks...
As Gryffin and Zhao Yun began fighting there, another unlikely ally showed up, in the form of Zhuge Jin. I had no idea at the time, but he would become one of my best friends here in the Rp land, most know him as Zhang Jiao, Michael to those of us in the know. He came, and swore a blood oath. By this time, the fighting in the south became enthralled, and I had moved up boats for Zhao Yun's use, which rained boulders down from mounted Catapults. They started annhilating Vash's and Kajyn's forces, which were both routed Off the field, effectively winning the southern half of the map for me. Gryff and AzNknight (Cao Zhang) were holding the center from arrow fire, using shield units to spare their men. I had an NPC bring by my Elephants, which were covered under tarps, and sent to the backlines.
Zhao Yun's men rallied, and allowed a small opening in our battle lines. Zhuge Jin began fighting as well, sending men to the frontlines, taking control over most of my personal troops. They held from Adam's rock launching attacks, and even repulsed one or two minor forays against my position.
Then, one of Adam's men had the belligerency to try and exploit the weakspot, which I had devilishly allowed him access to. As he plunged towards the castle where I had left a group of vulnerable archers, Zhao Yun's men came down off a hill to the west of the man's contingent. They fell in, and slaughtered him. Dong Zhuo came to help him, but I allowed the man to live, on the one condition that he joined me. The two both joined me, which allowed me another vassal.
Then, Adam whipped out his trump card.
We were continuing a stagnation of fighting, when Adam set light to my forest, to the north. It burned out Aruzo's unit, causing them to flee. Around this time, another ally showed up, in the form of a girl, who, although not a great Rp'er, had enough ability to bring her troops to the fore, protecting Aruzo's men. Adam then sent his best warrior, and his champion, 'Wolf' (also haven't heard from him in a while.) We were friends, me and wolf, and as such, I was hesitant against fighting him. He made a charge towards Sun Quan, and I allowed him to. However, as soon as he was in range, I tripped the ambush, and he was surrounded. I disarmed him, and then took his characters personal items, part of which was a necklace or bracelet that was part of his sister's collection.
He submitted, and I allowed him the piece back. However, playing into the hand I had forseen, as soon as it was returned, he left me, and abandoned back to Shu, who wouldn't allow him in either. Adam allowed him to try and prove his mettle, but it was too late. I had ordered an all out charge, and my force began the attack. With now double the number of men I had before, We were evenly matched. The battle ended, Wu victorious, Sun Quan standing upon the gates of the city.
I never did use the elephants. Adam retreated before he took too heavy of losses, which was probably good for him. After that battle, however, we ended my reign as Sun Quan, instead passing the baton to Gryffin. I took over the Japanese invading force, and Sima Hui took a chunk out of Adam's real estate in Shu, and Adam converted to the Roman legions. We restarted the site soon after AGAIN, this time as Me as Yuan Shao, Lyle as Cao Pi, Adam as a Roman Legion, Sima Hui ruling over his land, and Gryffin, Zhang Jiao, and another person ruling over Wu.
We got hacked soon after, and Fallen Era finally fell. It was perhaps Jorge's greatest site, honestly, as he seems to have a knack for getting people onto sites... It was nearly as succesful as CoD, but without the overbearing tones of "Grrr!"

That sounds like one helluva battle, I can't believe I missed it. And I remember in Wenchang, uncertain whether or not I was going to get beat by the somewhat bigger enemy, and if you would have started getting smarter by attacking me instead of aiding me. I had the whole site in my pocket though, so yeah.. All of you following the much weaker Zhao.. <.< And I'd sure as hell would like to help you on Sagas. I always wanted to see a battle on that site where the admin team didn't win. Of course though, Sleip might pull out some kind of nuclear attack and just kill you all. Good luck with that.

He's not in the battle. Shu tried to blitzkrieg innactive Wei, and I wasnt' having any of it.
So, with 700 personal troops, I've effectively destroyed and routed 1,500, and am helping hold back another 1,500...

Hahaha, the best part?
I routed the 1,500 by hurling a pike through a guy from 10 feet. He didn't notice it in my post because I hid it well (The entire post was about it), and he just shrugged it off as rambling. Goodnight Ma Dai ( I do believe he is the same Ma Dai from SGS). Tai Xun got speared through the back, but 'retreated', even though he would literally have his spine severed from the attack.
Of course, Sleip allowed his retreat... bastard.

All of those in Shu were never too clear about cheating, and they were wayy too happy about being in Shu. Good that your keeping em' down.

If you want help I can go support you;.... I have a horribly inactive character with many weeks of pay stacked up.

For favorite battle I would have to say, the one battle that Wei won on Sagas. I was part of Wu at the time but it was a great victory none the less. Can't be bothered to psot in detail.... Gonan play me some W0W!

I'd have to agree with that one - the battle Wei won on Sagas. It proved that Wu werent as good as Quan made them out to be, because we owned them. Quan wasnt there, so cheating wasnt present.
Everyone played such huge tactical parts that lead to victory, several key enemies were killed/executed/captured. Can't really pin-point one fantastic moment on it, the whole thing was great.

Justin you know Aruzo's posts should have been auto-hits, I had a flank and rear guard, he posted riding passed them all as if they were not there, I allowed the attack to be successful for the fun of the battle Also we agreed the battle was stupid, me and you. We both agreed to call it quits, we left satisfied it was a good first battle, I did not retreat, I wouldn't because a) I know how to fight elephants, and b) I had one big mother fucking force all to myself O it was fun when I was the Romans tho after the battle, where Steve persuaded me to ambush Aruzo in some forests, and then I posted battering Steve as well, tee hee hee. You did very well though when you look at the troop sizes etc, you had about 1/4 of my troops, 1/7 of my officers, yet you managed to make Vash and Kaijn withdraw north, capture Wolf and make SSX keep pestering me because she thought you were going to kill her My formation was crap anyway, would have been easy to break, it was the formation I always used on RTW, pretty good against CPU, but on rpgs, it has so many flaws (As shown in the battle of Jiaozhi, me against Erik) * * * * * Jiaozhi was me as Zhao Yun just after leaving Zhao. I decide to start a force for a laugh with Zell, so I begin to get a small force in Jiaozhi, which is cut off from all kingdoms. What I found interesting was the time it took Erik to attack, my character arrived in the city one day, and the next he attacked, yet the force of Cheng were still able to get news of it, amass an army, and move them 2 territories south. However I am not one to complain (Say nothing Lyle and Justin) so I fought him in a cool little battle. The city was up for grabs by both of us, and was to the North where Erik comes in. The city was split in half loyal to either force. I set up my usual crappy defence which at the time I thought was amazing, and awaited Erik's forces. He first sent horsemen I believe into a spear and shield wall, which was designed to be both good against both cavalry and infantry, and I described why, yet my losses were... well stupid, even by how many troops Erik had it was stupid. So I was left with about 50 swordsmen and about 350 spearmen (Had 400 each) and Erik lost barely any. So I decide to deal with Erik's next wave of Infantry, and with the horsemen already attacking. So I charge at the new attackers, and do a hit and run, and come straight back into my ranks to wipe out the Horsemen. The attack proved very successful, and I decided there I would just give up, knowing that with the losses I was dealt I couldn't last any longer anyway. I was willing to surrender to Erik and help him against Zhao, but he just killed me and I would have helped him, I don't betray very often. (Don't say anything Justin)

Often Adam? You've betrayed me at least 3 times on CoD, and then maybe twice total elsewhere. You should be suprised if I ever let you in another of my forces Nah, you'll always be instantly accepted in my halls Adam. Too many good times to outweigh the bad. Shawn, on the other hand, shall NEVER be allowed in any of my forces, nor Jin Pin. Both of those bastards betrayed me on FE, and as such, shall never be in my force again. I think Shawn died anyways, and I haven't seen Jin in a while...

I remember very clearly that I made sure I stayed out of that. That was a mess I wasn't heading into, nor any other admin seemed to care. Oh well, you had your fun/character death.

Lol, well I couldn't do anything, we both thought we were right, and Erik is a decent guy to me, so why should I care too much, fun before victory I say I still have that debt to you Justin, I have to join you on Dawn remember if it ever finishes, also if you rule on WOV, I will join you too.

I dunno. Shady thinks I should rule in WOV, and that he'd probably join me there if I did. But Lyle says he wants to rule, and I haven't served under him in a good RP in a while.
