Heya all, just thought you might like to know I'm starting my own roleplaying forum. It's not really all that much yet, I still have ALOT of work to do on it, but I've gotten down most of the basic stuff so far. Site Name: The Three Factions Site Address: kijulupin.proboards92.com/index.cgiBrief Description: Basically it's a war between the top three power-houses in the new universe. It's in the near future, the year 2110, so not too far off. It's got space-ships and stuff like that, but no shields and lasers are still an iffy thing, mostly prototype kind of weaponry. Otherwise, it's pretty much modern combat, only with some cool gadgets and weaponry that I'm going to be making up. This thing is mostly just an idea for a video-game, and I'd like to see what people think of it before really starting to get down to the dirty work with it. Type of Site: Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Futuristic Roleplay. Banner: If anyone wants to come over and help me out with it, I'd more than appreciate it. Looking for Admins, Mods, and the like for when this thing gets going on the road. ^^

Guns are very hard to capture through detail in role playing.. How will you over come this? A system? Eh, not sure if that's for this crowd.

Actually, I'm going to impliment an HP system, plus a dodge limit.
See, each character is going to have a specific set of HP dependant on their class, which will never change unless they become an officer.
Each shot does damage, however each player has 3 dodge 'charges'. They can basically dodge an attack somehow, but can only do this 3 times every battle. There will be some weapons that are un-dodgeable, but will do either horrid damage, or take a turn or two to actually use.
In much larger scale battles, such as space and air-combat, the rules will change, and I'll be setting everything up once I can. But, like I said, if anyone wants to help me get the place started, and roleplay a bit, moderator and admin positions are open...

Interesting, I hope you don't have fully automatic weapons, as it's hard to dodge 'sprays' from a weapon like that.

True, it is. But automatic weapons come with a powerful kick as well. Most of them anyway, and are fairly unaccurate. Say for instance that the bullets were sprayed, yes, but only took glancing blows, while the others missed? Or perhaps while fighting from cover, they just bounced harmlessly off some obstruction or other. I'll figure it out later on down the line, but for now it's still in the works, like I said. If you want to actually come down there and put some suggestions in the Suggestion board, I'd be more than happy to look at them and see what I can do.
